New World Celtic began as a weekly music session some 20 years ago at the legendary New World Home Cooking in Saugerties NY. These seasoned musicians have steadfastly brought Irish music to enthralled audiences ever since. The Monday night sessions still carry on in Woodstock, and the group- in varied formations -plays on St. Patrick’s Day almost every year. This year’s ensemble at Colony Woodstock is the New World Celtic Trio: featuring acclaimed Hudson Valley fiddler Aldo Lavaggi alongside folk singer/songwriters/guitarists Jon B. Woodin and Jude Roberts. You will hear traditional tunes and songs, as well as original works that take you back to the old world. Be prepared! This live on-stage session is likely to invoke foot stomping and raucous cheer, and more than a few raised glasses.
